I will text my husband from the next room of our tiny apartment because I am too lazy to get up, so I am the last person to judge.

Regardless of whether he was trying to protect her, I guarantee that isn't the first time Wing heard that someone thought she was a cunt. I would have been pissed he missed my birthday.

Since I'll be deleting some old archived posts from the private forums I will dropping some gems in this thread for posterity (and updating the fandom wiki as appropriate).

Highlights from a thread called something like "Who has inspired Joey Potter the most?" from FanForum! This is basically vintage insane back and forthing.

to criticize you as a moderator. But you will jump in like a
bunny to slap a Well Done! or a huge compliment to almost
ANY DJ-positive remark, no matter how trivial, repetitive or
snidely offensive it may be. It's your right - no one claims
otherwise. But it creates resentment and backlash.

PJs, it seems to me, are a pretty witty and clever bunch, but
unfortunately that humor hasn't been able to take any
foothold here. So thankfully PJ fans have other places to
go, to vent, to laugh, to NOT take things so seriously and to
truly appreciate the absurdity that is Dawson’s Creek
      addiction.
Well Liz, maybe julialex does have a point, but I think we've all been criticized
for what we do as moderators here, including you, so I'll simply address julialex
      in this post.

julialex, I wouldn't say I'm addicted to Dawson's Creek, but I do enjoy the show,
and posting about it here. I've discovered that I love to write, after not writing
anything since I graduated from college close to 20 years ago, and Fan Forum
has been a wonderful outlet for me to express myself. I've also made some
amazing friends that I cherish a great deal here. I also think it's only natural that
I would compliment a post that I agree with, and if that creates resentment or
backlash, so be it. I'm not going to simply be a lurker here and just come in to
edit posts, delete posts, or close threads just because I moderate this
message board. I feel that I have the right to my opinion as much as anyone
else has, and I have the right to agree, or disagree, with anyone else's opinion
as long as I do it respectfully, which I think I do.

Also, it's all up to interpretation. While you see P/Jers as being a witty and
clever bunch, I often see some P/Jers being mean spirited and confrontational,
while there are other P/Jers whose opinions I respect a great deal. I read the
P/J support threads, and I’m always heartened by the love that the people have
for that couple, and the camaraderie they have with each other. But us D/Jers
also have the same love for our couple, and we have the same camaraderie with
each other that the P/Jers have, and it seems to me like we’re often put on the
defensive here for supporting our couple, until recently, when some of us have
      started to speak up.

I find this message board to be very far from being a D/J centric message board,
in fact, if you look at the P/J support threads versus the D/J support threads,
you far outnumber us in terms of posts and thread numbers, and probably
members too, and I think if you count the number of times that someone has
made a “snidely offensive” remark to someone else, I think I know what side it’ll
favor, and it’s not the side I count myself as being a member of. But as a
moderator here, I will not tolerate personal attacks on any member here, be
they P/J, D/J, P/A, or whatever other couple affiliation you might have, or not
have, here. Therefore, if you all need to go to another website to slam people
and make fun of them, so be it, because Angela and I will not permit that here. I
don’t go to other websites to make fun of anyone else here, and I’m proud that I
can say that. Therefore, go ahead and slam me and other D/Jers all you want
on other websites, but the purpose of the Fan Forum Dawson’s Creek message
board is to discuss the show and its characters, and while people post here, we
ask that people treat each other with consideration and respect.

      Thanks for the lecture, Jo_ulmates.

And last I knew, Roxy moderated the Josh and Michelle boards ..... not really
much room for couple bias on those boards, is there?

No-one is bashing Jerry for having an opinion. Of course he is entitled to it ... in
my opinion some of the posts made by D/Jers on this board are ridiculous and
display an unhealthy emotional attachment to the show. Some are more
      rational.

Whatever .... I applaud julialex, Kimba, Roxy, geniewish, ksdc, Laura23, Hey
Sugar, Miranda, myself and everyone else who has helped this particular FF
Message Board to become more balanced.

This time last year I wouldn't have dreamed of posting here.

and I think if you count the number of times that someone
has made a “snidely offensive” remark to someone else, I
think I know what side it’ll favor, and it’s not the side I count
myself as being a member of.
WooHoo! Way to be couple neutral and show that you don't have a very bias
opinion about certain posters from a certain side!

On topic ... Word to everyone who said Joey doesn't (or shouldn't) need either
      boy to inspire her.

What kind of assumption is that? Of course even people with couple
preferences can be unbiased in moderating without having to throw their couple
preferences away. Like, uh, one of the mod here, I never heard any complain
about that mod like, you know, the other one...

Just for the record, I believe that remark counts as snidely offensive in and of
itself. Also for the record, I'll have to respectfully disagree with your arithmetic
      on that one.

Jerry, people have reason if they think you're biased in doing your job, and you
just repetitively deny it without giving any reason. You just tire yourself out and
we still don't buy it. If you're sure you're not biased, try to find out our reason
(and no, our reason is not just because you're a DJ-er means you're biased),
and work on that. And of course you can't just dart and say "if you think I'm
unfair, so be it". That doesn't seems like how a moderator should act.

Neo and Ginni write a fanfic about me comforting StaceyHosie post-9-11:

Neo (4:24:54 AM): Would it be really evil to write a fic where Is comforts Hosie in her grief over 9-11-02?
        Ginni (4:25:06 AM): no.
Ginni (4:25:16 AM): at least, not if they get physical with the comfortin'
Ginni (4:25:21 AM): but yeah if it's just talk
Neo (4:25:29 AM): "But Isadora, I just can't get out of bed. I'm too worried about the Yankees!"
Ginni (4:25:48 AM): "Well, Hosie, my love, I'll stay in bed with you!"
Neo (4:26:01 AM): Isadora gently strokes Hosie's frizzy hair, "Shh, darling. The Yankees NEED your support more than ever now."
Neo (4:26:43 AM): "But Isadora, what I need..." she whispers as she looks into Isadora's loving brown eyes with meaning, "...is you."
Neo (4:27:23 AM): At those beautiful words, Isadora could no longer hold back the waves of passion that threatened to drag her to the bottom of the Love Sea.
Neo (4:28:07 AM): Quickly she followed the path of Hosie's wandering eye as it wound its way around to Isadora's ample bosom.
Neo (4:28:22 AM): Her intention was clear, eventually.
Neo (4:28:44 AM): Isadora's hot hands quickly tried to encompass all of Hosie's more than ample buttocks.
        Ginni (4:28:44 AM): <-- CRYING
Neo (4:29:36 AM): This was no ordinary ass; she would need assistance if she ever hoped to stoke it all but in that heated moment, Isadora did not care. She must possess this woman, even if only in part.
Neo (4:30:37 AM): One day I think I'll write a book called, "Highly Inappropriate Stories for Older Boys and Girls"

BDW, this goes on for A LONG TIME with Neo writing a story that Ginni is basically crying laughing over.

OMB! I'd *completely* forgotten about that Hosie story.

There were many evenings that I'd spend crying laughing about shit like that. It kept me through my long 24x7 hours at work... I loved that the company I worked at didn't have a ban on ICQ or AIM.

                      OH WOW.

herman at pp.com in the FF thread: "But it's a liiittle bit relieving to discover that Jerry D still loves Dawson and Joey more than he does prepubescent DJo girls. It's like the world is a liiittle bit safer."

Well, there goes my day entirely. But such tiny font on the old board! Imma have to set it at 400%.

                      ETA:

                      "Wheeeeere's Ophy?"
That's a good question! I am nowhere on the pages I can access. Wonder what the hell I was doing in early 2002 . . . oh, right. Never mind. mr.o and I were in the process of splitting up and I was moving out to Westchester, and it was all a mess of RL dramz. Obviously, the break up didn't stick, but that happens to the best of break ups if you don't really put the effort into them.

The pages I can see make me miss keenai and fox, though.

You know, I never watched the Graham Norton ep where GN show PP to the J.

Maybe I should have kept all my squickfics, changed the names, and pulled an E.L. James.

I will not argue the split personality, but I don't remember ever registering at FF. That doesn't mean I didn't, of course, just that my memory is crap.

Reading this thread from the beginning...nearly crying.

I'm pretty sure Acid Wash was either Linda or Ginni. Sars never read the Survivor thread. And the "inside joke" thing from Hard Rain was such bullshit. She used to put board posters' jokes in the recaps. Example: Mr Peepers. I still have no idea who was 'posting in code' either.
