So now that I'm following Juliet on twitter, I'm super intrigued to see what this story is going to be like. She just posted the following two things:

Which have dialogue from "Rory" and "Finn" during their younger years. Which makes me think that she's going to be interspersing flashbacks to their teenage years, and that makes sense... you can't just write a story of how Pacey and Joey are reuniting without knowing the backstory, right? So I guess I'm definitely buying this book.

ETA: Ugh, I don't know how to make the pictures show. If someone can insert them that would be great.

Ha, Is! Juliet used to read PaceyPorn back in the day as a lurker, or at least I had a little birdie tell me that she used to. She might even read the No No now, but I don't have any confirmation on that.

I love that she added more to ONBB and that the added parts are all Faux P/Jo as chirruns.

It Had to Be You is out today - $2.99 for Kindle. I bought it and I'll probably read it this weekend.

I'm reading it and it is largely search & replace from ONBB and Starlight and other fics but it's fun to see the changes she's made and how she's got it to work as a non-Creek story. She's hasn't altered Pacey/Matt at all but Joey/Rory is physically different. I'm thinking Bridget/Amanda is some peoples idea of DK?

I wish It were more different but so far I'm enjoying (re)reading it anyway.

Me too! She's totally changed Joey/Rory's backstory, at least the glimpses we've gotten so far. Her mom is still alive and bitter after a divorce from her father - she and Rory are not warm and fuzzy. But the mom is remarried. (So the mom and her stepdad are the Bessie and Bodie). The biggest change to me is that there is no Dawson character. Or at least so far (I think i'm 10% done), that hasn't been introduced as an obstacle. Also she gave Pacey a gay brother, so that is the Jack character. Now Matt has two brothers.

I'll be verrrrrrry interested in seeing how the goodreads reviews are - can Rory (who is wishy-washy with her feelings about Matt and has gone up there purposely to break up this wedding) be sympathetic if you don't have goodwill from knowing Joey's tragic backstory?

I started reading last night and I wondered the same thing as you, Breezy. I can't read it with the ability to dissociate from all my Creek knowledge so I'm not a fair judge, but it seems like it'd be difficult to understand why Matt would still love her so much after she keeps bailing on him year after year.

I thought it was smart of her to include scenes from SOS as her flashbacks to when they were in high school, though.

Yes, and it's not like she has the excuse that he's deeply insecure and broke up with her and broke her heart into a thousand pieces this time either, both of which helped explain her reluctance to trust him. I'm appreciating the lack of the Dawson factor, though.
