I just noticed it looks as though Juliet has snuck in at Fic Snobs and deleted Shadows of Starlight! I have it saved somewhere but does anyone know why? Is she planning on re-working it or publishing or something??

Oof. Filing the serial numbers off that would be the most incredible torture. I mean, them's a lot of words and all are canon/reworked existing scenes.

Yeah, that one in particular is so canon-based I'm not sure how you would rework it for publication. Laura, Issie has all of Juliet's stuff in Word files if you want any other stories. If you PM me your email, I'm happy to send them on as well!

I do have them saved, I checked, but thank you! It's reassuring that so many of us have them, especially if they're going to disappear! It's good that Juliet's active again but it's not quite the activity I hoped for (that would be an ending to Trick of the Light!). Ah, well.

You're right, it would be difficult to re-work as it's so canon-based, I was just trying to figure out why she might take it off.

Juliet fic is like RLTL for me in that I'll never let go and never stop holding out hope that the fever will hit her again at some point and she'll start writing lovely P/Jo for me. I'd fall back into that habit again with quickness and no shame.

              stoopid, stoopid, stoopid.
I haven't saved anything! You think I would have learned my lesson after someone pulled down their fanfic.
so instead of putting stuff to Word, today I've just been rereading. IRDK.
              gah!

So, in case anyone is interested, I wanted to pimp this fic exchange here.

                Yuletide.

Basically it's a Secret Santa fic exchange where you write a 1000 words (or more) fic for someone and you get a fic in return. It's for rare fandoms, so for fandoms you don't usually find fics for. I think it's awesome and I'm looking forward to it every year. So many fics!

Does anyone know of any good Sherlock fic that's set between Series 2 and 3? I know there have to be some decent, "how John and Mary got together," and, "what Sherlock did while he was dead," type of stories out there but I wouldn't even know where to look anymore.

I don't have any recs for you, but Archive of Our Own is pretty much the best place to find decent fics right now. Fanfiction.net is still around too.

Thanks, I'll check out that archive. I refused to try to wade through FF.net back in the Creek days so there was no way I was going to do it now. So much badness.

It's weird, but the most famous Sherlock fics are AUs. I think it might be a little early for good fics based in the new canon, even just missing scenes. If I stumble upon some, should I post it here?

Eh, I'm bouncing between AO3 and FF but sourcing first from the Tumblr tags so I'd suggest you find the #Cumberbitches and track #sherlock ff etc.

The Sherlock FF is particularly spectacularly bad when you're reading total dumbasses trying to be smart. Like, it really kinda takes you out of it.

You can also track the master posts that summarize the daily updates. Like this one.

SEE? I can still kinda talk about things that aren't OUAT. No, I can't.

That's why I was hoping for recs of good authors. I have to imagine there is a ton of really, really bad fic out there based solely on how difficult it must be for to write a believable Sherlock. I'm sure most of them want to pretend that "off screen" he's completely normal.

You don't have to post links, dada, unless you find something so amazing you feel it needs to be shared. I'll probably hunt around for stuff tonight.

It didn't take me long to suss out the cray from OUAT by tracking a tag for the fic, Tumblr auto-sorts by number of notes / popularity and from there you can see who the kingpins are. I did the same thing at FF / AO3 to sort by number of favorites or followers or whatever to drill that down to what I ... need.

Basically, the filters in place now are amazeballs compared to what we were working with ten years ago.

Just PM'ed you with a request for Juliet's fics.

I thank you in advance for your consideration in this matter and offer you this in return.
