  • Oh, Anne.

    You make it SO HARD.

Cosette made Fantine very, very upset. Us Weekly has brand-new details on what went down between Les Miserables costars Anne Hathaway and Amanda Seyfried the day before the Academy Awards -- and caused a panicked Hathaway to ditch her planned Valentino gown in favor of a Prada creation for her Oscar-winning night.

An insider close to the situation tells Us Hathaway learned during an Oscar rehearsal at Hollywood's Dolby Theatre on Saturday, Feb. 22 that Seyfried planned to wear a dress notably similar to hers to the ceremony. After Hathaway asked about her pal's dress, Seyfried graciously shared an iPhone snap of the Alexander McQueen creation.

"Anne was like 'WTF?!'" the source reports. "She started throwing a fit!" The 30-year-old Best Supporting Actress victor, however, "never told Amanda she had to change the dress." Still, Seyfried, 27, was ruffled by Hathaway's tirade. "Amanda didn't want to deal with it and left" the rehearsal, the source notes.

But the drama didn't end there -- spilling into Oscars Sunday, as Hathaway fretted over the switch-up with her glam squad at home. "Anne made the fashion, make up, hair, and jewelry teams wait at her home for hours as she decided what to do about the dress debacle," a second insider tells Us. The star also "asked for silence so she could rehearse her singing for the Les Mis tribute at the Oscars. It was a painfully long experience."

Hathaway acknowledged the kerfuffle in a surprising statement released by her publicist earlier this week. "It came to my attention late Saturday night that there would be a dress worn to the Oscars that is remarkably similar to the Valentino I had intended to wear, and so I decided it was best for all involved to change my plans," the "I Dreamed a Dream" singer said. "Though I love the dress I did wear, it was a difficult last-minute decision as I had so looked forward to wearing Valentino in honor of the deep and meaningful relationship I have enjoyed with the house and with Valentino himself. I deeply regret any disappointment caused."

"I kind of can't understand why Anne didn't wear the Valentino gown, anyway," the first source opines. "She was the one winning the award, not Amanda. Who cares?"

    • Is Rachel Zoe still her stylist? Because I'm going to watch the shit out of that episode.

      • Please alert me when that episode comes on because I don't watch that show, but I will just to see Oscar gown meltdowns.

As for the double standard that exists between JenLaw and KStew, I also think it has a lot to do with how they came into their current level of fame. JLaw came out of nowhere and the first time the general public even heard of her was as an Oscar nominee for her role in a dark, sad, heavy movie and deservedly or not, she was immediately crowned an acting powerhouse. KStew was also relatively unknown, but she was introduced to the masses in a widely mocked teen vampire movie in which she did not give the best performance and taste dictators immediately decided that she sucked, so the rest of the public followed that mentality. JenLaw has to suck now in order for her to be stripped of her crown and she hasn't yet so she gets to keep it while KStew has to never suck again in order to get people to forget that she kinda sucked once.

        • 1st - makes AH sound like a female Dexter.
For the record, I do not believe Anne Hathaway murders people!

          • Nina Dobrev, that lovely Canadian, just tweeted this link of JLaw in the press room at the Oscars:

Throwback Thursday: Jennifer Lawrence. Talk about sharp, honest, unapologetic, funny. This video is heaven-
I love it when celebs fangirl over other celebs.

            • Not sure if this is also the right topic for the golden globes. HBO is changing the Hiltons swimmingpool area in an afterparty area. It wil be a 1.1 million dollar party. Pffff. The reception seating is already in order. Ben Affleck is sitting next to Sandra Bullock and other stars with front table seats are Colin Farrel, Braley Cooper, Leonardo di Caprio. Etc etc. Everything is ready for the Globes. Loads of stars are already there ofcourse like Mila kunis. It is one if the most relax awards shows to be or work at, because everything is very well organised.

From shows that I watch are Tatiana Maslany (orphan Black) and James Spader (blacklist) nominated.

              • I think we'll save this one just for the Oscars this year. Since the GG also gives out awards for tv, any discussion should go on the general award show thread:

(but I don't think you will find that many folks care much about it, to be honest, outside of the Tina and Amy factor and general fashion snarking.)

                • Noms are out:

I haven't actually seen anything except for Iron Man 3 and Star Trek (both only up for Visual Effects), and I realize this makes me a loser.

But! Going to make my completely uninformed guesses anyway. In order:

                  12 Years A Slave
                  Judi Dench
                  Jared Leto
                  HAVE NO CLUE

ETA Really this just makes me realize just how much I am totally still a teenager inside. How do people manage to care this much about regular grown-up people being terrible/not terrible to other regular grown-up people in movie form? I will never get it.

Give me vampires/witches/weres/aliens/time travelers/superheroes or GTFO.

                  • Obviously most people agree with, o. Just look at the box office receipts.

That said? I'm kinda sick of supernatural stuff. I am longing for Something New.
Itís just really honestly so tiring and emotionally draining to have to get upset over reality constantly.

                    • Sad about the lack of Inside Llewyn Davis love, bewildered but also not that American Hustle is getting everything. The only nom that's egregious for me for that pic is screenplay because, no. Don't care about the Emma Thompson or Toms Hanks's snubs because I have no desire to see either of those films. I don't think Dallas Buyers Club deserved a screenplay nomination either because it's incredibly conventional storytelling. I thought JLaw was very good in AH but I read something that called her performance a "Muppet Babies version of Sharon Stone in Casino" and now that's all I can see.

I all the grown up movies, ha ha.

                      • Since I know nothing about anything that is up for awards, it's all about Tara and Johnny for me this year.

                        insta vids!

Johnny driving there in the BEST sunnies:
                        On the red carpet!:

Apparently, they will be doing some hosting for Access Hollywood? yay!

                        • I'm actually marathoning Chuck instead of watching the carpet, but I saw stuff on my TL that was notable.

When you see me on the red carpet of the oscars tonight, just know…there’s a burrito in my clutch.

That might be my fave KBell dress EVER.

Anna Kendrick with the first WHYYYYYY.

Thor, Mrs. Thor, and the Thor twins:

I know it's really hard to dress a bump, so she gets a pass. But I don't like the fabric at all.

Love the color, love how classic it is.

                          Anne H in a breastplate:

JLaw in a very boring Dior:

I kind of like Charlize's cartoon-y villain thing going on:

                          Julie Delpy, like an angel.

This might be an interesting Gucci that Amy Adams is wearing, but hard to tell from this pic:

Blech. Julia Roberts is dressing older than she needs to.

Kate Hudson, also going for ANGEL:

Emma Watson in Vera Wang. LOVE IT:

                            • Cate looked lovely, the Amy Adams dress was boring, Olivia Wilde showed how to dress a bump in Valentino as she was very elegant. Jared Leto looked hot (but then he always does). Lupita went for something completely different to her other awards dresses and looked great.

                              • ha!

                                You've been Cumberbatched, U2!
