So I saw Mona Lisa Smile this weekend with a few of my gal pals. Yes, I know. Predictable. In many ways stereotypical. But it was pretty. Fifties fashion and hair! Academia! And fairly well acted, which helped a lot. I didn't expect much, so I wasn't disappointed.

I've tried! Everytime I start to go, bad things happen!

I saw Dogville the other night and was one of the people who stayed in the theatre until the end. It was difficult to get into it because of the fact it was filmed on a soundstage and is really quite sparse. And, like the other von Trier films, it's not easy to watch and is pretty disturbing. The ending was unexpected and, although, not a fun film to get through, it made me think.

I didn't mind Mona Lisa Smile either, mostly because it wasn't as predictable as I thought it would be. It helped that Julia's character wasn't portrayed as some kind of perfect role model; she made mistakes and she had a couple characters point that out to her. It was fun seeing Kirsten Dunst play a WASPy bitch, too. It certainly wasn't the "best movie of the year by far" like those TV spots claim, but it was okay.

(My mother loved it, of course. That woman loves most commercials.)

I also caught Dogville the other day. I didn't know what to expect, so when I saw it was set on a soundstage with hardly a set I wasn't sure whether I would be able to get into it or not. It was all right though. Im ashamed to admit that I started to laugh when I realized that it was the store bell they had hammered around her neck and every time she moved it rang. Had a tough time keeping that muffled.
It was pretty diturbing though, especially "I owe her that".

Those Win a date with Tad Hamilton! previews make me realize that Kate Bosworth really has had something done to her face, it's not an improvement, and I don't like her.

                    Carry on!

All I get out of that trailer is some weird Bye Bye Birdie vibe but Tad isn't going to war, there isn't any singing and Topher and Kate aren't pinned.

Is knows of some site where they have before and after pictures of her face.

Her nose is...disturbing. Where is it?!

                            Kate Bosworth

It's a weird set of pictures. Her nose does look different but it looks different in all four pictures so it confuses me. Her nose is like Britney's chest.
Its just really honestly so tiring and emotionally draining to have to get upset over reality constantly.

Also, the title of that movie makes me giggle a little. I have an ex named Tad.

You know, I can accept that RotK couldn't stay #1 at the box office forever. But seriously, Along Came Polly? THE FUCK?
