"And she’d also found Logan again. Now he was her…what? New old boyfriend?Lover? Skype buddy? Pen pal with benefits? Whatever his title, his e-mails filled her inbox. Sometimes he sent five a day, short and quipping. Other times he sent longer, more serious ones. She kept her tone light when she replied. That’d always been her MO- a joke, a jab. A way to deflect from what she was really feeling. A way to keep the nonstop ache of missing him from becoming too painful to survive. And honestly, what was there to say that would come close to what she felt?
The moments they’d spent together before he’d shipped out on his latest naval tour had been the most peaceful she could remember - even with the anxiety about her dad. It’d been the first time she’d felt complete in a long time. And then, just like that, he was gone.”

I'D PAY A MILLION GAZILLION DOLLARS TO READ ALL OF THOSE LOGAN EMAILS, ROB THOMAS.
I know some people are upset that Logan isn't going to be *in* the book the same way he was in the movie, but I am not complaining about a whole book-ful of long distance pining and great uncertainty. That's just hot and adorable and awkward and wonderful.
If he's insisting that you drive his $120k car while he's away, then you're most definitely his girlfriend, Veronica. No need to worry about labels, duh.
Okay, so people in the US who did not think VMars was coming to a theater near them might want to check again. I guess opening wkend did well enough for the movie to expand other places, because one of my locals is going to be showing it as of Friday. Yay!
Going to drag my mom out to see it with me on the big screen, since mr.o doesn't want to.
Seen it for the second time today with my parents who I got addicted to the series aswell back in 2005. They loved it aswell. And I still got sobby by the goodbye logan scene. And the book is pre-orderd. Can't wait!!
Yeah, audiobooks are outlandishly expensive which is why I always download on my phone from my public library. I will have to see if the library takes requests.

In my writing group this would get a "SHOW! Don't tell!" in the margin.
It’s just really honestly so tiring and emotionally draining to have to get upset over reality constantly.
Logan turned back to her ear, smiling and she wondered what part of her he was really looking at. Her eyes? Her lips? For some reason the whole thing- the way they could never synch up- made her indescribably sad.
‘So Petra Landros. In your office. I’ve had that fantasy a few times, but it usually didn’t involve a missing persons case.’
'She's not nearly as sexy in real life. That beauty mark?' Veronica leaned in and lowered her voice. 'It's really just a mole.'
'Don't tell me that. The 2004 Victoria's Secret Christmas Catalogue is all I've got keeping me warm at night.'
'Really? That thing must have seen some mileage by now.'
' The seaman's life is one of privation.' he said soberly.
She smirked.

I don't feel like these are super spoilery, right?
I don't think I've read any VM fic in years and years, so I'm not vouching for any of those.
However! Last night I composed a one-shot in my head, where Dick insists on helping Veronica find a place for her and Logan to live after he returns, and their real estate agent (who Dick was hoping to bone) gets shot while they are standing on the balcony of a sweet two bedroom apartment with hardwood floors and marble countertops only a block from the Neptune Grand. In fact, Veronica traces the trajectory of the gun shot back to to the balcony of the Presidential suite at the Grand where Logan used to live, and drags Dick with her over there to investigate. And! the person staying in that suite is a grown-up Heather Buttons, the little girl that stayed a couple of days with Logan while Dick was off marrying and then divorcing her sister nine years before.
I cannot believe I waited so long to watch this show. I finished S1 yesterday and I never saw it coming. I thought it was Duncan all along. Logan is my fave and I'm sad when he's not in an episode. I'm three episodes into S2, and I'm not really feeling D/V. Are S2/S3 as good as S1 was?
I finally caved and watched the first 5 episodes of S1 last night. Will I ever find out who raped Veronica? I don't want to go look it up and get spoiled, I just need to know. I am ready to meet the Logan y'all love, because he is such an asshole right now. I can't believe Paris Hilton had a guest role as Logan's girlfriend! She's so terrible. I love Daddy Mars and Veronica so much.
