  • Yeah, you are never going to shake off my Damon goggles. I wasn't even that big of a fan until I wrote two Damon-focused fics, and started thinking of him as *my* Damon. I totally own that writing fanfic has biased me more than I realized it would when I sat down to it. I was very eh on shipping anyone with anyone before that.

But! I will always and forever love Stefan and only want good things for him (eventually), so it's not as though my stanning for Damon makes me less of a Stefan/Paul fan. I wear goggles for him, too. And now I'm picturing myself with multiple aviator goggles on, and that's just silly.

I'll just cross my fingers that Elena being a vampire makes me hate Delena less.
I hope so! Although, if you don't care for Ian, then I don't see that happening. You and InD are like the anti-thesis of each other (Bizarro world versions!), because you look at Ian and see 'crazyeyes' and she looks at Paul and sees 'muppet', and it's hard to get past that. I love them both, and think they are both insanely hot, and can therefore totally understand Elena's confusion about them. So I don't get too bothered when she's with either one, even if I have my own preference. If Stelena sex scenes lead to Paul shirtless, then hell yes, more please. It's all good.

    1) KLAROLINE. OMB. YES.
    2) I love Trevino but I am eh on Tyler. Don't want him to die, particularly, but would be okay with it if he did.
    3) YES. Looking forward to Hot Stefan on a motorcycle.

cadlymack has screeners of the first two S4 eps and is watching them today. She isn't tweeting what I would consider spoilers, but she did share one of Matt's lines from the premiere.

    • I still think Ian/Damon is really gorgeous, I just find his acting distracting. For me Paul acts rings round him on TVD, and therefore Stefan can give me the feelings.

        Except when you win! Hee!

I like everybody with everybody on this show. I think Ian is a little campy and silly in his crazy-eyed delivery so I don't really *feel* the soft and fuzzies for him in a way that would drive me to serious shipping. That doesn't mean I don't like Damon and Elena together--that Denver kiss was hot and I'm for hot kisses above all sensical things on television. It just means that Stefan's sad little phone call at the end of 301? Made me have so many FEELINGS compared to other pairings on the show. So I'm a *smidge* more invested in them while pretty much in it for the pretty and biting and the general crazy that is TVD.
Itís just really honestly so tiring and emotionally draining to have to get upset over reality constantly.

              • I hate Tyler too!
The Sisterhood of Wanting Tyler To Die. *sniff* It's a beautiful bond.

So cadlymack finished watching the screeners, and she wrote an article that is stirring up DRAMZ. So obvs, I spoiler tag the relevant bits.

                http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethe...to-expect.html
Expect some seriously sexy Stelena stuff. Obviously, there's their usual sweet romance, and the symbolism of Stefan putting the daylight ring on Elena's finger when they could now literally spend eternity together isn't lost. But holy moly, it's been a few years since we've seen a really hot, charged, sparks-flying-everywhere type of scene between Stefan and Elena -- and Stelena fans will finally get their kicks again in episode 2.

Unfortunately, the dirty-hot-wall-slamming-vampire-sexiness doesn't end the way that it should. (It ends with vomit, guys. Bloody vomit. So much of it. You've been warned. About all the bloody vomit.)

And then there's Damon, who is... still feeling pretty bitter about Elena's choice in the Season 3 finale, but he's determined to be her friend anyway. Of course, their relationship grows increasingly complicated after she remembers meeting Damon first and his kind words to her (on two separate occasions). Delena fans will love watching the way the memories come back to her -- you'll get to relive a great moment from a fresh perspective. And yes, Elena does drink Damon's blood after Stefan's bunny diet doesn't agree with her tummy... and let's just say it really hits the spot.

In a lot of ways, it feels like the love triangle is being relaunched. Instead of rehashing the old I-don't-know-how-I-feel stuff, Elena's new "condition" leads to new problems and new connections between her and the Salvatore boys.

I'd rate the above a nine, tbh. A BEEKING NINE. It's triangle related, so stay away. And I'm seriously plying myself with a fan right now, because I LOVES this. I know Carina always gets her stuff cleared with Julie before pubbing, but I'm a little bit surprised that they let her print the sexy D/E blood drinking spoiler. It's groundbreaking to think that we won't lose blood sharing opportunities now that Elena is not human. I was one of the people that was a little disappointed that we wouldn't get to see Damon feed on Elena properly, but the other way around is excellent, too.

Other bits and pieces from her article (non-triangle focused):
                1. Elena as a vampire is crippled by her compassion. Given Mystic Falls' tendency to be a constant bloodbath, the fact that Elena can now literally feel other peoples' grief is a huge problem. As usual, though, she wants to convince everyone that she's fine, and bottling up all that heightened emotion has a profound effect on her.

                2. Bonnie is awesome. In a lot of ways, she gets to be the hero of the first episode. While nearly everyone else is getting kicked around by the council (who are much smarter than we expected), Bonnie is proactive, powerful, and pivotal. She decides to kill herself -- at least, temporarily -- to bring Elena back from the dead. What happens after that has a profound effect on her. Kat Graham is a real standout in the premiere episode, and in the second episode, she lets someone into her house who hasn't come in before. And it's great.

                3. A surprise appearance! We're obviously not going to tell you who, because we kinda like this job, but someone we thought we'd seen the last of comes back in one of the first two episodes.

                4. Klaus-slash-Tyler is fantastic. Yes, we all love Joseph Morgan, and he'll obviously be back -- but in the meantime, don't forget to enjoy Michael Trevino's work as Klaus, because it's really well done and just darn fun to watch. (By the way, Klaus and Caroline do get pretty hot and heavy -- briefly -- while he's in Tyler's body, but to Klaus's credit, he absolutely does try to tell Caroline before she full-on mouth-attacks him.) Later, when Tyler has his body back, we see a really heroic moment from him that's been building for a long time. As for Klaus, the first thing he does when he's back in his own body is break someone's heart pretty brutally.

                5. We presume Jeremy can still see dead people -- but that's not the only thing he can see that other people can't. Hmmm.

                6. It's been teased that Damon will confide in an "unexpected friend" in the second episode -- and he will. But obviously, he's not replacing Alaric easily. He even makes Elena choose a different chair when she tries to sit in Alaric's old seat at the Mystic Grill bar.

Okay, so my spec on the non-tri stuff . . .
                1) Elena's compassion. Yawn. Wevs. Get back to me when you want to talk Elena's killery tendencies.

                2) Bonnie invites Damon into her house, maybe? Don't think she has before. Maybe she needs his participation because it was his blood in Elena's system.

                3) Well, I have no idea. Flashback involving Alaric, maybe?

                4) Tyler's heroic moment. Um . . . wevs. As for Klaus breaking someone's heart brutally, I wonder if this is where he gets furious with Bex about killing his doppelganger. Maybe he even kicks her out of the Klaus Haus.

                5) I don't know! But I am intrigued by this. Maybe Jeremy can tell just by looking at them if they are a supernatural creature or not. That would come in handy if he is going to become a bit of a hunter.

                6) Damon confides in Klaus, thinking he's Tyler. Honestly, I don't know. Could be Meredith. Could be Bex. Don't think it matters much, although it's sweet that he's keeping his boyfriend's chair sacred.

ETA and just for the record? That phone call scene in the parking lot in 3.01 ALWAYS makes me cry. ALWAYS and ALWAYS.

"It's like Caroline is dicknotized," @tbrick2 says while we're watching TVD. New favorite word.
                    That *is* a good word.

TVovermind has this to say about 4.01.http://www.tvovermind.com/the-vampir...miere-teasers/

In Transition. Elena is understandably horrified by the possibility of becoming a vampire at the beginning of the episode, despite acknowledging that her potential transition is a better situation than Matt being dead. She goes through all of the expected stages of the transition, including a strong desire for blood, heightened senses and wacky emotions.

The Council Rises. The vampire hating members of the Council have taken over, folks! And they're looking to make all of the supernatural creators - and their sympathizers - pay for the lax security in Mystic Falls in recent years. The first thing they do is round up some of their enemies and demote a few others.

Damon, Thy Name is Anger. That sneak peek from the season premiere where Elena first wakes up is just the beginning of Damon's anger. He's furious by what's happened to Elena, but doesn't want her to give up and die. Still, he goes to significant lengths to take that anger out on people.

Journey to the Dark Side. Bonnie makes a choice to go great lengths - and risks personal safety - in order to save Elena. This leads to unexpected consequences which are compounded when Klaus shows up, demanding that Bonnie return to him to his own body. Let's just say that the price she pays to save her friend and give in to Klaus' demands are high.

The Triangle. Elena does remember some important things she had been forced to forget. She then spends an important portion of her transition period with Stefan - in less than ideal circumstances - and reaffirms her love for him. Elena is comfortable with the choice that she made in the season 3 finale, no matter what she might recall now. But where does that leave Damon? With even more anger.

I am so down with angry Damon.

I kinda thought the Bitter Bettys at the Ian spoiler board would be happy with most of these spoilers, but they still found lots to groan and complain about. I just want to cuddle this show, and they want to KILL IT WITH FIRE. No pleasing anybody! No wonder poor Julie is an insomniac.

                            *shudder*

So, anyway, if you've got friends and/or relations that are friendly, who you have been trying to introduce to TVD, but they are balking at having to catch up with 66 eps (wimps), here is The AV Club's suggestion for the ten eps to watch to ease them into it without overwhelming them (again, I say 'wimps). http://www.avclub.com/articles/exper...t-and-m,86133/

I would never leave off 'Katerina' or 'Heart of Darkness', though. So perhaps you should tell them twelve eps.

Okay, so none of the things labeled as 'spoilers' here are actually spoilers at all to me. Very oblique and vaguely worded, but to be safe, I'd give the below a 2 rating (from someone else given the first two eps as screeners): http://www.ksitetv.com/vampire-diari...episodes/16695
                            1. Shipper stuff galore. After ten years of covering Smallville I should be used to shows tugging at ‘shipper (relationshipper) emotions. The core of TVD in recent times has been Elena’s choice between the brothers, Damon and Stefan. I might be a bit of a stick in the mud here because I am fine with any choice Elena makes; after all, it’s sure to flip-flop between now and the inevitable conclusion of the show in however many years. I will say this: One group will be extremely happy, but another group will get some fan service as well. TVD knows how to create the drama, so whatever choices there are, they won’t be easy ones.

                            2. Stefan vs. Damon. The brothers still have a similar relationship to the past, in that they may sometimes annoy each other, but they tolerate each other. They do have seriously different ideas on what to do with Elena. Damon feels that Matt should have been forgotten and saving Elena should have been the priority, even if it means losing her friend. Stefan wanted to respect her wishes to save Matt first at the end of Season 3. It shouldn’t come as a surprise that the brothers also disagree on what Elena should feed on now that she is a vampire.

                            3. Surprise appearances. In a world where everything is spoiled, I was jaw-droppingly surprised on more than one occasion. Saying any more will get me into trouble.

                            4. Steamy vampire sex. Again, where I feel like an old stick in the mud — there are some scenes that get almost porny in nature. I’m not sure it belongs at the 8PM hour but then again, all the blood and gore probably wouldn’t either. The Vampire Diaries doesn’t need to be True Blood, but I know there are people who are into that sort of thing. (And while I’m being a prude — is there a legal drinking age in Mystic Falls? Just checking.)

                            5. Danger for the vampires and the people who love them. There are people who find out all about what has been going on in Mystic Falls, and they are NOT happy. This could change the dynamic for all of the characters. There’s also a new guy in town that I don’t think the others are going to want to cross.

                            6. Continuity. One thing I will definitely praise The Vampire Diaries for is it remembers its roots, and it remembers the characters that made a lot of it come together. A different show might forget characters like Aunt Jenna, Lexi, Anna, or Alaric, but not this one. The second episode in particular is willing to look back at The Vampire Diaries’ past while still looking forward, which is rewarding to this longtime viewer while at the same time not alienating a new one.

                            7. Recaps! Both episodes seem to take a different approach to the “Previously On…” trope, and both times it seems the recap is different. I like it. I still would LOVE actual opening titles complete with a theme song, but since TV rarely does that these days, this is the next best thing, I guess.

                            8. The “Diaries” part is mentioned! Well, sort of. Episode 2 mentions Elena’s passion for writing.

                            9. The gang’s all here. Everyone who you see in the Season 4 promo images appears in the premiere in one way or another, and the second episode features at least the entire Mystic Falls High School contingent.

                            10. Are these episodes perfect? To put on a critical eye, at least for me, they’re not. I think the second episode is actually a lot stronger than the first, so maybe that trend will continue. Don’t get me wrong, both episodes are enjoyable and worth seeing — but I admit I will have some trouble getting used to the notion that now, it seems that beyond Matt and possibly a new character we meet in Episode 2, there no longer seem to be any normal people in Mystic Falls. Everyone is either a vampire or a witch or a hybrid, or they are related to one. It’s a challenge any long-running series gets…. Smallville ended up with the same issue, where everyone was either a superhero or sleeping with one. I might get used to Vampire Elena, and I know these writers and Nina Dobrev can pull it off, but I’m somewhat nostalgic for the days when there was a little bit of normalcy in Mystic Falls.

The only thing of note, really, is that they say all of the people in the S4 promo pics are there in the first ep. That means ELIJAH. So yay.

Julie and KW made the THR list of influential showrunners, and were interviewed: http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/new...liamson-376001

Weirdly, though, they only have Julie's answers on here. Nothing at all spoilery in them.

So I was lying at my acupuncturist's office this morning, with needles sticking all over me, thinking about the D/E blood drinking spoiler, and this was my spec: We know Stefan and Elena get hot and heavy in the woods while he's teaching her how to hunt and eat bunnies, and he pushes her against a tree, etc, and then Elena vomits and vomits up the bunny blood. So perhaps she just can't handle an animal blood diet for some reason. Fair enough. And maybe when she killed the pastor (totes my spec from before- dunno if true) she lost control and got a little ragey on his human blood, and so maybe she's *afraid* of drinking human blood in any form (blood bag or otherwise) because she's concerned it will heighten her killery tendencies. I can see her confiding in Damon as she grows hungrier and more perplexed about what to do, and I can see him offering his blood as an alternative, thinking of Mikael. Maybe Damon went off the vervain when he realized Klaus was inside Tyler, or something, or maybe he's been too busy to drink any vervain, so his blood is clean.

I can def see how a heightened emotional scene like feeding on Damon could overwhelm Elena and make her get a little hot with him (yes please), and then both of them keeping her new feeding habit a secret from Stefan. Stefan, of course, needs to stay on a vervain regimen to protect himself from Klaus, since Klaus is weirder about Stef than he is about anyone else, and therefore it should be Damon who is Elena's portable blood bag until they can figure out a better way. And Damon migt then decide to use Matt as a training dummy for Elena, so she doesn't have to be afraid anymore of feeding off human blood - testing the idea that human blood makes a vampire (even non-ripper ones) more monstery and less in control. All of this of course, being the big secret they keep from Stefan, and leading to him feeling betrayed by them both when he walks in on them doing either of the above things.More impact of course, if he walks in on them while Elena is feeding from a shirtless Damon. Off to your motorcycle, Stefan! Run away to brood and pout!

                            • They have already released the official description for 4.03 'The Rager'.

BORN TO BE WILD — Connor (guest star Todd Williams) continues his search to uncover the secrets of Mystic Falls and tries to convince Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) to work with him. With Dr. Fell’s (guest star Torrey DeVitto) help, Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Klaus (Joseph Morgan) question Connor, but the confrontation takes a lethal turn. Trying to keep her new life as normal as possible, Elena (Nina Dobrev) is determined to continue her senior year at Mystic Falls High with support from Matt (Zach Roerig) and Caroline (Candice Accola). Rebekah’s (Claire Holt) arrival at school makes it difficult for Elena to control her anger, but she learns that confronting Rebekah can be extremely dangerous. Later, Rebekah realizes how alone she is, and reaches out to April (guest star Grace Phillips). Stefan (Paul Wesley) takes Elena on a thrilling motorcycle ride in an effort to show her that life can still be fun. Tyler (Michael Trevino) gets a surprise visit from Hayley (guest star Phoebe Tonkin, “The Secret Circle”), a werewolf who helped him through the ordeal of breaking his sire-bond to Klaus. Concerned about Elena, as well as his own emotions, Stefan turns to a sympathetic Caroline for advice.

Yes, my posts are beginning to look like censored letters being sent out of Communist Russia.

Anyhoo, so now we know when both Phoebe Tonkin and the motorcycle are going to show up. Will enjoy seeing everyone Mean Girl Bex, especially if there's going to a smackdown between Elena and Rebekah. Bury her in the lake, Vamplena! I know you can do it. Also, Steroline. Yay.

Meredith, Damon *and* Klaus working together? Me like.

Oh, you're so smart! I was wondering why she wouldn't just drink Stefan's blood, but obvs Stefan needs to be on the vervain! Damon will loooove being Elena's dinner, he would definitely stay off vervain for her. I hope Klaus (or Rebekah) compels him at some point.

                                Also, Steroline. Yay.
Double yay! I looooooooooooove Steroline. I think their scenes together in early S2 were the thing that prompted me to first post on this thread If it wasn't for Caroline becoming involved with every other guy in MF, and me being totally sucked in by "I fancy you," I think they'd be my OTP.
