Dark and grim? The whole point of AoGG is that she chooses not to dwell on the dark stuff, what even is this. I was going to give it a go but it's not for me. Vanity Fair agrees:

I only made it 20 mins into the first ep. I was never really into AoGG (read the first book thirty years ago, watched a couple of the original eps, but that's all) so I was coming to it as a newbie outsider. It was annoying and weirdly grim. Blech.

I haven't brought myself to watch it yet. I'm not sure I'm ready for a darker Anne.

I've watched 3 episode of the new "Anne" and I hate it. I hate the drudgey Game of Thrones filter. I hate Matthew. I hate bitter, angry Anne. I hate the soundtrack.

I like the casting for Marilla and I don't mind Gilbert.

    Overall I'm v sad.

empire has a lot of shonda like moments in season 1. it manages to work some of the time.

I started watching The Bureau and I'm fairly riveted. Nothing like a good spy drama.
Girls is done, The Americans are almost finished.. TBH I can't remember the last time I was watching less shows.

I am watching Empire from the beginning. It is not good, but Taraji is everything and makes it perfect.

Is anyone watching the Prison Break reboot? Because I am INTO IT. It's so just as stupid and bananas as ever. <3

ALTHO, Dr. Sara Tancredi is a terrible mother and a crazy person? It's like her Walking Dead character seeped into this one?

Up here Anne of Green Gables is currently airing on the CBC. It is as good as the 1985 version (with Megan Fallows) - - but it is also quite different. This version isn't as true to the book. The new stuff is meant to bring the drama but it doesn't always work - - - sometimes it is a bit hokey so take it with a grain of salt.
Things that bother me: Diana being inconsistent, Jerry, Gilbert Blythe (the actor is no Jonathan Crombie, the "carrots" scene), and Anne's "mouse" conversation.
This version of Anne more closely resembles the Anne I imagined when I read the book. When Megan played Anne she was 16, only a couple years older than Amybeth McNulty is now - but those few years make a lot of difference. This Anne is 13 (instead of the book's 11), small and scrawny. (Although, in Netflix's adverts Anne has less freckles and quite a tan.)

It does look good - and I was very doubtful about it.

I had forgotten about Netflix's remake of Anne of Green Gables till I saw the trailer today. I now don't think it will disappoint me as much as I feared.

May is going to be a very nostalgic TV month for me.

I sorta feel like I should rewatch the series ahead of the reunion but I mostly just wish this wasn't happening because the odds of failing are SO HIGH.

In a lot of ways, I don't think the show holds up anyway. I love how deeply weird it is and it changed TV forever. Sometimes that's enough. But I'm not gonna turn my back on Agent Cooper, not when I worked so hard to keep that show on the air! it was my first bit of activism! LOL TV has always moved me to action.

I disagree and wish I could go back in time and not watch all of Twin Peaks S2. It just harshed my deep love of the show. I have the DVDs here and I keep meaning to rewatch and rediscover it.

I second that! Watch it all!

Even the not-so-great eps are better than 90% of what's on tv these days.

Speaking of, Iron Fist is so baaaaad, y'all. So boring so flat. There are only like two compelling characters, and the protagonist is not one of them. I'd skip it unless you are a weirdo Marvel completist like me.

    YES HE IS.
