I watched the pilot of Looking for Alaska on Hulu and it is heavy on Creek nostalgia. Poor girl from the wrong side of the tracks and naive bumbling guy who is obsessed with her are the main characters. Sadly, there is no Pacey yet, but maybe he shows up later. The main guy actually looks a lot like Chad Michael Murray to me which makes me think all these WB kids really are made in a lab. I never read the book this is based on, but it's John Green so I probs won't ever read it. This is also a Josh Schwartz show so the soundtrack is all early 2000s Gossip Girl songs.

I'm still watching Riverdale. I just haven't started the new season yet.

I liked the Nancy Drew pilot. I'm into it.

The Mr. is sinking deeper and deeper into fantasy football, so this is my window to Politician and Maisel it up!

Guys, Kerr Smith is the new killjoy principal on Riverdale. I know I’m the only one here still watching it - it’s fucking batty - but hopefully he gets the chance to act as campy as the rest of the adults (excepting Luke Perry and Molly Ringwald, of course).

Lol, I just realized I said Jessica Tandy is good in The Politician and while I'm sure she would be awesome in it, she's def dead. Jessica LANGE is actually really good in this, though. We finished it this weekend and if you haven't started it yet, like

Have y'all watched The Politician? We started last night and are only a couple of episodes in, but I really like it so far. Ben Platt, Zoey Deutch, and Jessica Tandy are all awesome in it and even Goop is well cast. She's basically playing herself, but she's good at it.

Elite S2 is GUD. Seriously, if you're feeling any sort of teen angst or Gossip Girl void in your life, this is the filler. For a show that makes me read subtitles, I stay mega interested the entire time. Also, weirdly all the kids have great chemistry so they can pair up any two and it works.

I somehow missed the recommendations for Fleabag but of course I watched it - it has Andrew Scott in it. Such a clever woman that Phoebe Waller-Bridge. I also saw him in a play recently and he was fabulous in it. Great actor.

Derry Girls and Gameface have kept me sane these past few months. Season 2 of DG is just as good a season 1 and I canít wait for season 3.

I canceled Hulu in the wake of the VMars scandal. Heh. Also, I barely watch it so I got my $6 back and bought myself some limes to make more margaritas.

How truly awful the first ep of Mindy Kaling's 4 Weddings And A Funeral (on Hulu) was hurts my heart because I sincerely wanted to love it but how happy I am the the second season of Derry Girls (on Netflix) is finally available makes things a bit better.

(but really, 4 weddings is just bad, y'all. They just took four characters with zero chemistry and tried to pass them off as longterm friends and yet it feels like they hardly know each other, and that's just fundamentally a mistake. Nothing felt actually real, but it wasn't quite frothy enough to make that unrealness a selling point. Also, it was not funny.)

I still have not had the right mood for When They See Us. I just don't want to cry and feel impotent rage right now and I'm even less inclined to watch something this heavy after S4 of VMars. I did watch Clique which was super entertaining. It's a British thriller about college kids who are interns at a super glam tech company. There's some silly WTFness that happens, but mostly, the twists and turns are fun.

I also finished Elite a couple of weeks ago and that was silly fun too. It was Spanish GG + murder mystery. I'd put it off for awhile because I like playing games on my phone while I binge watch stuff and you have to read subtitles for this one unless you want to watch the weirdly dubbed version (do not recommend this option). But it was worth it! The second season comes out in September so I don't have to wait very long and everything is still fresh.

We're live watching Euphoria and man, there are a lot of literal dicks on this show. Druggie Zendaya is a bit of a stretch, but she's not bad in this. It does make me want to keep my kids away from the internet forever though. I also live watched BLL2 and it was...ok? It just felt like the girls all wanted to keep working together, but there wasn't much plot to work through. Other than the courtroom scene in the finale, I was mostly bored. That payoff was really good and Nicole vs. Meryl was legit the acting superbowl. Laura Dern's character Renata had the line of the year for me though and I mean, like from any show, when she screamed "I WILL NOT NOT BE RICH!!!!!" with 100% conviction. It was amazing.
